Baptism Of Soup: Man Imprisoned For “Pouring Hot Soup On Policeman”

One Imole Emmanuel has been remanded in prison custody for assaulting a police corporal, Kayode Akingbade, in Ado-Ekiti.

Emmanuel, 33, appeared before and Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court over a three-count charge of assaulting a police officer and conducting himself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace.

The dry cleaner reportedly poured hot soup on Akingbade’s face and uniform at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016.

The assault on the policeman reportedly took place at a canteen around located at Baptist junction, Ilawe Road in Ado Ekiti minutes after the accused was ordered to leave an area Akingbade and his colleagues were conducting surveillance duty.
